JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Excellence Specialist is responsible for managing and administering elements of the Operations Excellence Management System contained in IMS. This position owns all things Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, and Continuity from a work process and tools perspective. This role is charged with ensuring that operational excellence processes are well defined, supported by well‑developed tools, and uniformly delivered and executed across the Operations organization.

EDUCATION

AND EXPERIENCE

2 year / Associate Degree (Required)

In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Four (4) or more years supervisory/management experience required related experience (Required)

Ten (10) or more years experience in refining, petrochemical or chemical role (Required)

No Licensure or Certification Required.

Physical ability to work on and around industrial equipment, including climbing of stairs, ladders and in confined spaces;
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, hearing protection, respirator)

Maintains a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment by following, implementing and enforcing Company standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations

Serves as Site administrator for all IMS – Operational Excellence elements

Responsible for development of site procedures that are aligned with and compliant to corporate IMS standards

Responsible for development and rollout of tools to support Operational Excellence work processes

Monitors for and manages uniform and consistent application of site procedures and associated tools across Area Business teams

Provides coaching and feedback to operating teams and Production Supervisors on procedure compliance and tools implementation

There will be a heavy audit and observation component to this role; including developing and implementing corrective actions for continuous improvement based on audit and observation feedback

Ensures that any formal discipline is administered consistently across the site and business teams

Serves as investigation lead for administrative investigations

Maintains “dotted line” administrative responsibility for Production Superintendents, focusing on Operational Excellence processes and tools utilization and compliance
