Submer designs and delivers end-to-end AI datacenter infrastructure built around industry-leading liquid cooling.
We help organizations scale AI beyond the limits of traditional datacenters by enabling higher density, greater efficiency and lower environmental impact – accelerating time-to-AI from first deployment to full production.
What impact you will haveThe Principal Product Manager is the end-to-end business leader for a product line of high-density cooling racks for AI and high-density compute. Acting as a “mini‑GM,” you will own this product line, taking responsibility for market insight, product strategy, roadmap, and financial performance (P&L) from concept to end-of-life. The role combines deep technical understanding of liquid cooling and high-density AI infrastructure with strong business, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills, ensuring the product line delivers sustainable revenue, margin, and customer value in a global, multicultural environment.
Whatyou’ll do
- Build a deep understanding of the global market for advanced cooling AI infrastructure (hyperscalers, colos, micro‑DCs, OEMs, integrators, telcos, enterprises).
- Conduct regular interviews with strategic customers, partners, and channels to understand AI density roadmaps, cooling strategies, constraints, and buying criteria.
- Analyse competitors (tanks, racks, CDUs, integrated micro‑DCs) and adjacent technologies, identifying differentiation and white spaces for the product line.
- Define and maintain the product line vision and multi‑year roadmap for high‑density racks, and associated options (CDUs, manifolds, power integration, enclosures, services).
- Decide on new products, variants, and cost‑down initiatives, balancing performance, density, cost, sustainability, and time‑to‑market.
- Align the product line roadmap with company strategy, sales priorities, strategic partnerships and industrial capabilities, in close collaboration with CPO and Engineering.
- Own the P&L of the product line: build and update business cases, set volume and margin ambitions, and track performance versus plan.
- Define pricing structures (per rack, options, services) and discount frameworks with Finance and Sales, ensuring margin discipline in a high‑CAPEX B2B context.
- Monitor revenue, gross margin, mix, and pipeline; propose and drive corrective actions (portfolio, pricing, cost, go‑to‑market) when targets are at risk.
- Lead cross‑functional product line forums, bringing together Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Sustainability, Compliance/Certification, Maintenance, and Support.
- Negotiate priorities and trade‑offs (features, cost, lead time, density targets) with these teams, ensuring clarity of requirements and realistic commitments.
- Act as the single accountable owner for key product decisions and as the main escalation point for issues impacting the product line.
- Translate market and customer insights into clear product requirements: thermal and power envelopes (e.g. 300–1000+ kW/rack), AI server types and form factor, fluid types, materials, serviceability, safety, certification, and integration constraints.
- Own the full lifecycle: introduction, growth, maturity, and end‑of‑life, including SKU/option strategy, complexity control, and migration paths to new generations.
- Ensure product documentation (spec sheets, integration guides, TCO/value tools) accurately reflects capabilities and constraints.
- Support Sales and Technical Sales Specialists on deals: positioning vs competition, solution configuration, trade‑off discussions (density vs redundancy, CAPEX vs OPEX, cooling architecture choices).
- Contribute to launches, major bids, and strategic partnerships by preparing product value propositions, reference architectures, and customer‑facing presentations.
- Train and enable channel partners and key…
