Overview
We are seeking a detail-driven Senior AP/AR Property Accounting Specialist to join a growing commercial real estate organization. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to play a key role in supporting financial operations across a portfolio of commercial properties.
You will partner directly with senior accounting leadership and property management teams, gaining visibility across financial reporting, cash management, and transaction processing.
Responsibilities- Review and process invoices, ensuring proper approvals and accurate coding prior to payment
- Prepare and execute weekly AP batches, ACH payments, and vendor disbursements
- Post tenant payments (checks and ACH) and maintain accurate tenant ledgers
- Assist with monthly financial reporting, bank reconciliations, and cash flow tracking
- Audit and process employee expense reports and credit card transactions
- Manage intercompany billing and reconcile related accounts
- Maintain 1099 vendor records and support year-end reporting
- Research and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, payments, and tenant accounts
- Maintain organized financial documentation in accordance with internal policies
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate or property management
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting workflows
- Experience with property accounting systems such as MRI, Yardi, or Avid (strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
