Reports To: Principal/ Assistant Principal

• Bachelor degree in Education or related field with valid Georgia teaching certificate.
• Is qualified to teach the subject and/or class assigned as defined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GAPSC).
• Ability to relate well to students, parents and co-workers.

• Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance and performs all duties as assigned effectively and efficiently.
• Is neat and professional in appearance befitting the job they provide the school system.
• Shall exhibit a professional attitude and demeanor at all times in dealing with the board, school administration, fellow employees, parents, students and the public.
• Use appropriate, research-based methodology for instruction.
• Provide content development, establish high expectations for student performance and assist all students in mastering academic standards.
• Promote student engagement in learning and provide appropriate assessments of student learning progress.
• Use student progress data to develop teaching strategies.
• Respond to adequate and inadequate student performance.
• Support students with encouragement.
• Utilize time efficiently.
• Maintain effective physical setting for instruction.
• Compile, maintain and submit all required reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain appropriate student behavior in the classroom.
  
  Follow professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students, student records, parents and colleagues.
• Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, as established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
• Integrate the use of technology in the classroom.
• Participate in training programs and apply concepts learned in the classroom to increase student learning.
• Review current developments, literature and technical source information related to job responsibilities.
• Ensure adherence to appropriate safety procedures.
• Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.
