Job DescriptionAs a continuous improvement engineer, the candidate will be responsible to bring a measurable improvement to multiple departmental benchmark targets, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Candidate must be a self‑motivated individual willing to take the initiative to continuously improve operations. He/she must possess the ability to deal with complex problems and be willing to work flexible hours/shift as projects require.
Job Responsibilities- Lead continuous improvement projects to provide technical solutions to technical problems
- Identify, scope, and justify automation and digital‑enablement opportunities.
- Lead structured problem solving (PDCA, DMAIC, A3, 8D, 5‑Why, Ishikawa) to eliminate waste and drive root‑cause resolution.
- Maintain communication with partners outside of the work group including safety, quality, production, and maintenance
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth project execution. Providing technical direction to and oversight of strategic suppliers
- Maintain and meet project budgets/forecasts and drive cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop CI roadmaps and tracking to ensure prioritization, benefit validation, and long‑term sustainment
- Ensure improvements are standardized, replicated across similar processes, and reflected in PFMEAs, control plans, and standardized work
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective/preventive actions
- Support KPI governance (SPQRCE metrics, OEE, scrap, downtime) and ensure accurate data visibility for decision‑making
- Drive 6S, visual controls, and workplace organization improvements
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in manufacturing engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Experience with processing equipment, throughput, and comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, enabling effective design and production.
- In‑depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, fostering operational efficiency and waste reduction.
- A strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time, with ability to meet project timelines
- High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
- Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required
- Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
- Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions
- Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities
- Experience with data analysis and statistical process control (SPC), enabling informed decision‑making and process optimization.
- Experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment, demonstrating the ability to thrive in fast‑paced settings. Experience with reliability and maintainability of processing equipment, standalone availability, and throughput.
