DutiesThe Manufacturing Engineer - MES at Comprehensive Logistics, Inc. in Spring Hill, TN (715 Beechcroft Rd., Spring Hill, TN 37174) manages multiple Manufacturing Execution System (MES) engineering projects across our facilities that support multiple industries. He or she supports ongoing facility operations ranging from facility wide process improvement initiatives to workstation level PLC programming and industrial control systems, including automated tooling, visions systems and robotics.
Duties include:
testing system configurations and implementing MES functionality across the CLI network, including leveraging Production Ware and warehouse management software; assisting and supporting new product launches and equipment installation; interpreting part drawings and Bills of Materials to determine build specifications, quality requirements, and process failure modes; converting operational work instruction into systemic route and decision‑based process steps that can be guided, controlled, and monitored by the MES platform;
establishing MES requirements and protocols for automated tooling to include torque limits and angle monitoring, including integrating and supporting Cleco and Atlas Copco torque tools (wired and wireless); implementing Andon, poke yoke, and error proofing solutions and applying APQP methodology for quality assurance; and developing cell layout designs using computer‑aided design (CAD) software. The Manufacturing Engineer – MES ensures seamless integration between MES, warehouse management software, and multiple external control system platforms;
performs routine management and updating of MES configuration for changes to users, parts, processes, and/or tooling requirements; provides statistical performance and defect reporting, as well as automated analytics based on collective system data outputs; documents all MES configurations and changes to meet PFMEA and PPAP requirements; and trains operational and support resources on use and troubleshooting of MES functionality. Position is based in Spring Hill, TN.
It requires travel to other Comprehensive Logistics project locations throughout the United States at least 75% of the time. Intermittent telecommuting permitted.
Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or a related field or foreign equivalent as evidenced by a credentials evaluation, and four (4) years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience. Experience must include two (2) years utilizing APQP methodology; leveraging Production Ware and warehouse management software, CAD software, and PLC programming and industrial control systems, including automated tooling, visions systems and robotics;
assisting and supporting new product launches and equipment installation; and integrating and supporting Cleco and Atlas Copco torque tools (wired and wireless) in a MES environment.
Commensurate with qualifications and experience ($122,096 per year)
