Title: LOGISTICS ENGINEER
Responsibilities- Maintain and optimize supply‑chain systems including production planning, stocks, logistics FMEA.
- Design and implement improvements in the supply‑chain, including upstream, internal, and downstream physical and information flows based on Lean principles and best practices.
- Define and set up physical organization and contribute to VSM activities: reduce NVA activities and increase pulled flows in the plant.
- Interface with Optimap/Optipro organization on management of new products and process introduction; work with engineering and logistics to develop and implement optimum flow, storage and layout solutions (new products, changes, continuous improvement).
- Promote safety culture for the logistics team and forklift operators by optimizing plant layout footprint.
- Prepare supply‑chain KPIs and update related action plans for review by the Plant Logistics Manager.
- Update the book of flows; specify information‑system requirements and communicate them to the ITS Manager and System Controller.
- Support continuous improvement (upstream, internal, downstream) based on Lean principles and PO best practices.
- Define optimum stock levels at each step of the production process and lead stock‑reduction activities.
40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Location:
OPmobility f/k/a Plastic Omnium Auto Exterior LLC, 741 Beechcroft Road, Spring Hill, TN 37174.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management, Logistics Engineering, or closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Material Planner or related role.
- Alternate:
Master’s degree in the stated fields and three (3) years of experience. - Proven experience (≥3 years) coordinating with suppliers, vendors, transportation companies to ensure timely delivery; planning warehouse, distribution and transportation operations; evaluating logistics data; conducting regular inventory audits; managing plant performance; managing material requirements and maintaining optimal inventory levels; customer relationships and integrating requirements.
- Technical skills: SAP, Customer Portal, SQL.
