Overview
As a Horizon Air flight attendant, you’ll fly regionally throughout the West, creating signature inflight experiences while prioritizing safety. If you can manage a flexible schedule, uphold high standards, and create memorable moments for guests, we want to hear from you. This is a union represented position.
Role Specific DetailsImportant Application Requirement

Role Summary
As the face of Horizon Air, representing Alaska Airlines, you’ll be an authentic and gracious host with in-depth knowledge of inflight service duties and safety procedures. You will maintain a positive, approachable manner with guests and fellow employees.
Key Duties
- Understand and be in full compliance with all safety regulations
- Ensure all safety equipment on aircraft is in working order
- Greet passengers, assist with seating, carry-on stowage, and security
- Explain and demonstrate use of safety equipment and emergency procedures
- Prepare and serve meals and beverages, including alcohol
- Market onboard products and process sales using a mobile device
- Calmly resolve passenger situations during flight, including medical emergencies
- Answer questions regarding flight operations and destination information
- Perform other duties as assigned
Additional Details
As part of the application, you will be asked to take an audio assessment (~40 minutes). Training will be four weeks of paid training in Portland, OR. The tattoo policy: no visible tattoos on face, neck, or chest; one small tattoo per hand; other tattoos must be hidden or not visible when interacting with guests.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of customer or community service experience
- Uncompromising dedication to safety
- Body size must meet aircraft dimensions and safety equipment requirements
- Ability to meet grooming, uniform, and appearance standards
- Ability to perform the duties of a flight attendant
- Ability to relocate to specified bases:
Seattle, WA;
Portland, OR;
Medford, OR;
Boise, ;
Spokane, WA;
Anchorage, AK;
Everett, WA - Willingness to serve alcohol
- Basic computer literacy
- Flexible to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively
- Adaptability to perform a variety of duties and operate under stress
- 4 weeks of paid training in Portland, OR
- Possess and/or obtain a valid passport; able to fly unrestricted in/out of Canada
- Ability to communicate in English
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum age 21
- Authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary Details
- First year step rate: $20.66 (per contract)

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements
Employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar must obtain and maintain a SIDA badge. If not qualified, the employee will be terminated.
