Residential Float Driver

Pay & Working Hours

Wage: $31.49 per hour. Shift: Monday – Friday, 5:30 AM start time.

Safely operates a heavy‑duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes.

• Operate vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and all local, state and federal requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe vehicle.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using standard DVIR, noting all issues for corrective review/repair.
• Immediately report any unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
• Participate and cooperate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Operations Manager.
• Work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
• Assist other company drivers as directed and complete all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notify Dispatch or Operations Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol (e.g., blocked containers, potential missed pick‑ups).
• Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
• Completely dump all containers and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
• Complete and submit customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
• Position containers on the customer’s property to ensure lids are properly replaced, containers are upright, and do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
• Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.

• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class
  
  B.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Basic education: none required.
• Experience:
  
  no prior work experience required.
• Basic computer skills for DVIR submission.
