Job SummaryGrow existing accounts and develop new business. Meet individual and team sales goals and objectives.
Essential Duties- Contact customers via phone or site visits to build and maintain relationships in order to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Calmly and effectively resolve customer complaints.
- Accurately enter customer orders into the system and have them processed within set time frames according to delivery route schedules.
- Manage accounts, including profitable sales, customer service, price and volume management, and supply coordination with warehouse. Coordinate with sales teams to avoid over‑ or under‑selling.
- Assist customers with retailing and advertising.
- Operate in a team environment, working closely with sales and other departments, and maintain constant communication with warehouse and drivers.
- Know the product: seasonal and specials, and market accordingly.
- Perform light collections with the customer base when applicable.
- Promote a positive company image and uphold the highest ethical standards.
- Maintain continual awareness of the competitive marketplace.
- Follow good manufacturing practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge and experience within the produce business, including in‑depth knowledge of grow seasons, quality, pairings, and marketing strategies.
- 5+ years of produce experience, with knowledge of organic and processed items.
- Retail and pricing experience required.
- Sales experience and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to meet goals.
- Solid computer skills – Word and Excel.
- Flexibility with schedule, ability to travel when needed, and work rotating weekends and holidays when scheduled.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self‑starter and motivated.
- Proven success with retaining, identifying, developing, and growing accounts.
- Regional travel.
- Clean 3‑year driving record; must meet insurability requirements.
Work in all weather conditions, including agricultural fields during various crop growth stages and in cold rooms ranging from 33–36 °F. Must pass a pre‑employment criminal background check, drug screen, and comply with our federal contractor drug‑free workplace policy, which prohibits marijuana use for all employees.
