Overview

Job Overview
Partner with assigned customers to ensure they have the right products at the right time in the right placement.

Core Responsibilities

• Order products that align with the needs of the customer.
• Display store products effectively.
• Maintain effective business relationships with customers.
• Travel daily to customer locations.
• Arrive promptly at customer locations on assigned routes for service.
• Rotate stock and remove out-of-code products.
• Process merchandise returns and issue credits according to company policy.
• Ensure the neat and orderly appearance of UNFI products.
• Provide product and/or delivery notifications to customers.
• Sell promotional and sales programs as assigned.
• Follow duties in accordance with HACCP and SQF policies and procedures, as appropriate for the location.
• Follow through on customer product requests.
• Keep management informed of area activities and any significant concerns.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Provide backup for other field sales representatives when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications

• Valid driver s license necessary
• Auto insurance levels that meet UNFI requirements

Experience

• Prior customer service experience in a retail setting
• System implementation preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Excellent customer service skills
• Good communication skills
• Time management skills and attention to detail
• Basic math abilities
• Ability to work independently
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

• Travel (major):
  Weekly travel is required for this position.

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Daily travel is required and access to a vehicle is necessary
• Ability to get in and out of the car multiple times per day
• Drive to and from accounts safely in city, rural, and expressway conditions
• Ability to set up displays, fixtures, shelving, and products
• Able to tolerate exposure to store and warehouse conditions including wide variances in temperature, dust, and dirt
• Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and occasionally in high places to perform job duties.
