Summit Cancer Centers in North Spokane Valley, WashingtonSummit Cancer Centers is an AON Partner and has been providing high quality, individualized care to oncology patients since 2000. As a community oncology clinic, we are expanding our team and seek a Chemotherapy Infusion Registered Nurse eager to make an impact within the practice and the surrounding community.
We are looking for a Registered Nurse to support our physicians with patient care. The ideal candidate will embody our mission, vision, and values: excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, personalization, community commitment, and accountability.
Key Performance Areas- Safely and accurately mix and administer chemotherapeutic agents per physician order, adhering to ONS standards and OSHA/HRS waste disposal guidelines.
- Conduct ongoing patient assessment.
- Provide thorough documentation in OncoEMR and ensure accurate billing for all medications administered.
- Follow the Company’s I.D. policy with every patient encounter; act as instructor for chemotherapy classes, educating patients and families about medications, side effects, and treatment plans.
- Perform telephone triage, prioritizing calls from patients, families, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices, responding within appropriate time frames.
- Assist with inventory and restocking of medical supplies; recommend new items; maintain timely storage of stock.
- Use Nucleus for medication dispensing; perform cycle counts and restock medications on schedule; enter patient charges into Nucleus.
- Attend annual Safety/OSHA training and all mandatory staff meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee information.
- Help train new employees on related job duties.
- Be available to work at any company location to meet business needs.
- Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations regarding patient privacy, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment; follow company, departmental, IT, and disaster plan procedures.
- Registered Nurse, licensed in the state of employment, with experience in IV therapy.
- Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting.
- Strong critical thinking and calm, effective response in emergency situations.
- Current CPR & BLS certifications.
- Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of residency for travel to clinics.
