- This role will be a hybrid position with a primary focus on reducing shrink and damage at the location, as well as assisting the Inventory Control Specialist with inventory cycle counts and troubleshooting shipping errors.
- Shrink and damage largely occur from a combination of material handling errors, receiving errors, carelessness, and inadequate training.
- It will require working directly with the current Internal Control Specialist and the Administrative and Operations teams to solve errors that lead to shrink and damage and to generate ideas and drive solutions that will result in efficient and safe work environment.
- It is also required to maintain good housekeeping in work area, follow all safety programs, and ensure compliance of OSHA regulation.
- Material Handlers demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
- Candidate must possess alertness and adaptation to warehouse routines and understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Operating a forklift, performing customer service activities, and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned are additional responsibilities of this role.
- Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma, GED or two (2) years equivalent work experience. Must be able to understand and communicate safety and other work related instructions. Working Conditions are in a warehouse operations environment with considerable physical exertion. Will perform duties in all weather conditions.
- Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of building material products and engineered wood products a plus. Ability to understand and measure lengths of material required. General warehouse experience, including industrial forklift operation, and/or knowledge of warehouse work environment preferred.
