Master Control Operator

This position is responsible for operating switchboards, commercial playback servers, and following daily station logs for KAYU/KCYU/KFFX/NAYU/NFFX.

• Operates audio/video switching consoles for all stations simultaneously
• Monitors equipment to ensure quality of signal being delivered
• Inputs and operates computer servers for commercial playback
• Operates satellite receiving equipment
• Maintains logs and paperwork, as required, and prepares daily variation reports
• Operates transmitter per Federal Communication Commission regulations
• Responsible for company security and safety procedures during business hours
• Performs related duties as assigned

• Hours may vary and individual must be willing to work overnights, weekends, and holidays
• Must have phone and be willing to work additional shifts on call as needed

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in electronic communications, broadcasting, or multi-media computing preferred

Reports to Lead Master Control Operator, Chief Engineer, and General Manager.

• Basic skills in operating audio/visual and other electronic equipment
• Extensive computer experience
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to follow standard procedures during high intensity situations, work effectively under pressure without supervision, and maintain effective working relationships with staff
