Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
The Senior Operations Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the operational success
and efficiency of the organization. This position supports senior leadership in their
day-to-day activities and provides structure around technology and systems
management. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and time
management skills, as well as experience and a demonstrated affinity for managing
data and systems. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Washington, DC, reporting
directly to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the CEO and senior
leadership. The Senior Operations Manager is a critical point of execution and
coordination across departments and functions.
Responsibilities:
● Create and maintain systems for ensuring team members follow critical
processes across the organization
● Support the team in developing and executing on logistics, contracts and
outcomes for events
● Coordinate financial operations and liaise with the outsourced accounting firm
to ensure timely reporting, expense management, and budgeting in
alignment with organizational practices
● Create, maintain, and improve SOPs for all recurring processes and team
operations
● Lead adoption and optimization of core internal tools to improve visibility and
accountability
● Accompany staff and the CEO and other executives as needed at critical
meetings and events, ensuring they are well-prepped and all follow up
activities are completed
● Establish weekly reporting rhythms and check-ins that ensure executive
leadership has visibility into progress, blockers, and priorities
● Help manage contracts with external vendors to ensure exceptional service
and responsiveness
● Ensure proper record keeping of all transactions and compliance with systems
● Support recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members to ensure
seamless integration and alignment with CER culture and processes

● Accomplished in managing operations
● Proficient and agile in all technology and able to work speedily with cloud systems
relating to project management, communications and administration using
programs such as Asana, Slack, Google Docs and Sheets, PPT, Salesforce, Expensify, ,
● Committed to using systems and always striving to perfect use of them
● Excellent time management skills, with an ability to take the initiative, work
independently, and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced work
● Ability to analyze and execute plans based on data
● Adaptable and flexible
● Able to work with urgency in a busy environment
● Respectful of organizational leadership and demands
● Passionate about, and have experience with, advancing education freedom
Qualifications:
● Experience with a broad range of organizations
● Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of
expertise
● Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask
● Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and
indirect reports and peers
● Self reliant, good problem solver, results oriented and hands-on
● Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive
● Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability
to effectively interface with organization’s senior management and staff
● Passion for organization’s mission
● Salary Range - $110,000-$130,000 depending on experience and accomplishment
