Position: Network Operations Center Technician (NOC)

Overview

We re seeking a Network Technician II to support and monitor an enterprise SD-WAN network, infrastructure, and critical systems within a highly regulated, high-availability environment. This role is a key part of technical operations, responsible for real-time monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, and communication to ensure service stability and availability.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical fundamentals across networking, operating systems, and applications, paired with ITIL-based incident management experience and a proactive, collaboration-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor enterprise SD-WAN, application, and infrastructure systems using tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and Solar Winds.
  • Perform proactive application and infrastructure monitoring, trend analysis, and alert investigation.
  • Log, assess, prioritize, and manage operational incidents following formal ITIL-based Incident Management processes.
  • Conduct initial troubleshooting and triage to identify root cause and ensure proper escalation and expedited resolution.
  • Coordinate incident resolution efforts, including bridge calls, internal and vendor escalations, and post-incident documentation.
  • Create accurate, timely major incident notifications and technical communications for operational and executive audiences.
  • Generate and distribute incident, performance, and operational reports according to established standards.
  • Maintain and administer NOC/TOC tools, escalation paths, contact lists, and documentation.
  • Assist with monitoring system management to ensure accurate reporting and device consistency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance monitoring, processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior technical operations staff and serve as a subject matter resource when needed.
  • Participate in a 24x7x365 operations environment, including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate s degree in Computer Operations, Operations Management, or equivalent technical training or experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an IT or Technical Operations environment.
  • Hands-on experience with operating systems, enterprise applications, Active Directory, and networking technologies.
  • Experience working within formal Incident Management frameworks (ITIL).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Exchange, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently, manage shifting priorities, and operate effectively in high-pressure environments.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Project Management, Business Systems, or a related field.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Solar Winds or comparable enterprise monitoring platform certification.
  • Familiarity with banking or other regulated-industry environments.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and drive changes through implementation.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and energized by solving complex operational problems.
