Overview
Be Part of Healing. Be Part of Hope. Volunteers of America Eastern Washington & Northern Idaho (VOA) is seeking compassionate Medical Respite Support Staff to join our Hope House program. Hope House offers short-term, supportive care for adults experiencing homelessness who are transitioning from a hospital stay and need a safe place to recover.

Schedule- Saturday & Sunday | 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM - with additional hours available to make FT if desired
- Saturday through Tuesday | 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Full-time opportunities available
- Shift differential pay for overnight hours
- Flexibility with opportunities to pick up additional shifts
- Support guests recovering from medical, behavioral health, or crisis-related needs
- Help maintain a calm, respectful, and trauma-informed environment
- Prepare and serve meals, as well as clean and disinfect the center
- Assist with intakes, orientation, and referrals to community resources
- Monitor safety and respond to medical or behavioral concerns professionally
- Complete shift documentation, logs, and reports accurately
- Work independently while staying connected with the care team
- This role is a great fit for individuals with experience as: CNA or Home Health Aide
- Shelter, residential, or overnight support staff
- Behavioral Health Technicians or Peer Support Specialists
- Medical Assistants or hospital patient observers
- Case aides, direct care workers, direct support professionals (DSP), or social service professionals
- Crisis response, or de-escalation roles
- Individuals with lived experience and a passion for helping others
- Eligible to apply for an Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential within 30 days of hire
- Willing to obtain (with VOA support): CPR/BLS, First Aid, and Food Handler’s Permit
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, steady presence
- Ability to work independently, particularly during evening or overnight hours
- Must be 21 years or older and able to pass a background check
Experience in homeless services, behavioral health, trauma-informed care, or peer support
