- Assist the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of surgical services to ensure suite setup is appropriate.
- Create and maintain a sterile field, provide equipment and supplies, and perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts.
- Provide visualization of the operative site.
- Pull cases independently using preference sheets and OR special equipment lists.
- Update and review case lists, making changes as necessary.
- Check cases and equipment prior to the start of surgery.
- Verify efficacy of equipment, operate, maintain, and record its status.
- Document efficacy of equipment in accurate operative records.
- Know proper assembly, operation, and disassembly of all OR equipment and attend in‑service on new equipment.
- Complete competency evaluations and maintain skill proficiency.

Required Qualifications- Licensed Surgical Technologist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
- At least one year of experience with scrub skills.
