Full-time, Days, Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) 1.0, in-person.
Pay range: $18.91–$28.37 per hour, determined based on experience and departmental equity.

The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) provides coordination of the unit by interacting effectively— in person and by phone — with patients and families, staff, and physicians. Understanding appointment scheduling, computer skills, and medical terminology is essential. Self‑motivation, courtesy, and confidentiality are fundamental to the position. Shriners Spokane is looking for a full‑time Health Unit Coordinator to join our inpatient team!
Responsibilities- Participates in positive and effective communications; demonstrates flexibility to change as required; promotes inter/intra department teamwork; works efficiently and demonstrates integrity.
- Processes, schedules, and coordinates transportation of patients and orthotic devices.
- Receives, assesses, and routes telephone calls.
- Initiates, maintains, and disassembles charts for in‑house patients.
- Encounters registration, updating, quick/trauma admit and discharge.
- Consistently meets operational expectations related to attendance, punctuality, meeting attendance, compliance with deadlines, staying current with posted and email communications.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) certification.
- Experience in a health‑care setting and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Previous HUC experience.
