Pharmacy Assistant – Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic
Join our dedicated healthcare team at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic. We are a leading community health center in the Pacific Northwest, offering a full range of medical, dental, pharmacy, and behavioral health services.
Position Highlights- $19.39–$23.76 DOE with higher potential for highly experienced candidates.

- Answer phone calls and handle non‑professional inquiries.
- Enter patient data and billing information into the system.
- Deliver prescriptions, verify medication accuracy, collect payment and signature.
- Coordinate prescription counseling with the pharmacist as needed.
- Maintain inventory awareness and place orders based on defined minimum levels.
- Verify orders received, place stickers, and organize shelf placement.
- Monitor and check expiration dates on in‑stock drugs.
- Return or discard dispensed prescriptions if not picked up by patients and enroll reverse billing as allowed by state regulations.
- Process prescription refills and verify refill availability per state regulations.
- Complete third‑party billing forms and contact providers for prior authorization per state regulations.
- Perform clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), HRSA, and YVFWC requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of pharmacy assistant, office, administrative, patient‑care, or customer‑service experience.
- Pharmacy Assistant state registration within 60 days of employment (or active Pharmacy Intern License).
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred; demonstrate level 9 on the ALTA language proficiency scale.
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills with a customer‑oriented approach.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to perform administrative tasks (answering phones, filing, faxing, scanning, copying).
- Teamwork ability in a fast‑paced environment.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office) and familiarity with pharmacy software systems.
- Pre‑employment drug screen required after conditional offer.
