Job Description
Independent contributor within the Energy Efficiency Analytics team tasked with solving complex energy efficiency planning and analytic challenges. Analysts prepare complex cost-effectiveness models for electric and natural gas measures utilizing cost tests required by state regulators. Responsibilities include building and maintaining complex quantitative, statistical, financial, and economic models to meet existing and future energy efficiency savings targets. Provide analyses and input into the Company's conservation potential assessments for the electric and/or natural gas integrated resource planning processes.
Monitor, calculate, model, and report kwh and therm savings and Demand Side Management (DSM) tariff balances for Company and other regulatory filings; prepare analyses, documentation, and drafts testimony and respond to data requests in support of regulatory filings. Supports Energy Efficiency program managers and engineers in acquisition and reporting of data related to efficiency programs. Participate in the development and review of contracts through Requests for Proposals (RFP) or other processes.
Supports energy efficiency, and demand response efforts to determine acquisition goals and program development.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for evaluating and measuring actual results against energy efficiency measure projections.
* Participates in the identification of cost-effective conservation measures and development of conservation plans.
* Works with third-party evaluators in the verification of recorded conversation measure savings.
* Provides analytical support to the Energy Efficiency department.
* Develops and maintains analytic models in support of energy efficiency programs and reporting.
Requirements
Associate Energy Efficiency Analyst:
* Bachelor's degree required from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university in Finance, Economics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Data Analytics or related field.
* Requires basic understanding of financial analysis, statistics, and accounting including intermediate-level spreadsheet and database skills.
* Effective and flexible written and verbal communication skills required.
* Ability to successfully develop and manage relationships at all levels of the organization and influence a variety of stakeholders required.
* The ability to be a self-starter and work hands-on with own initiative to accomplish objectives and learn on the job.
* The ability to think critically, analyze and communicate technical information to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
* 2 years' experience strongly preferred including demonstrated knowledge of a portion of the following fields: financial and economic analyses, cost-effectiveness analyses, evaluation, measurement & validation, rate case proceedings, electric and natural gas demand side management, project finance, and engineering economics.
* Familiarity with computer programming languages (e.g., R, Visual Basic, and/or Python) and visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power
BI) preferred.
* Familiarity with data management (i.e., spreadsheet, R, Visual Basic, Python) and database skills (including SQL) preferred.
* Knowledge of optimization and risk analysis is preferred.
Hiring Range: $68,027 to $87,754
Energy Efficiency Analyst:
* Bachelor's degree required from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university in Finance, Economics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Data Analytics or related field.
* Three (3) years' experience as an Associate Energy Efficiency Analyst, or related field.
* Requires working knowledge of financial analysis, statistics, and accounting including intermediate-level spreadsheet and database skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge of most of the following fields required: financial and economic analyses, cost-effective calculations for jurisdictions/fuels/sectors, Demand Side Management (DSM) program modeling, data acquisition and reporting in CIS databases, invoice coding.
* Competent data management (i.e., spreadsheet, R, Visual Basic, Python) and database skills (including SQL) are required.
* Ability to successfully develop and manage relationships at all levels of the organization and influence a variety of stakeholders required.
* Ability to be a self-starter and work hands-on with own initiative to accomplish objectives and bring new business concepts, analyses, and strategies to the peer group.
* The ability to think critically, analyze and communicate technical information to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
* Advanced organizational skills to effectively plan, manage, and execute on multiple priorities with deadlines
* An understanding of and experience in tariff rate making, finance, economics, engineering knowledge as it pertains to measures and their applicability and knowledge of rate schedules is preferred.
