The Credit Collection Specialist is responsible for collecting past‑due consumer debts, including secured and unsecured loans, credit lines, credit cards, overdrafts, and real estate loans. Implements appropriate loss mitigation strategies to resolve delinquency and minimize risk. Accurately documents all conversations and reasoning behind actions taken. Provides support in the collection of accounts that have been charged off.

ScheduleMonday thru Friday, Dayshift hours. Eligible for a hybrid schedule after initial training.
Essential Functions- Contact delinquent customers by phone, email, text, and mail to determine the reason for delinquency and attempt to resolve the delinquency.
- Recommend resolutions including loss mitigation, charge offs, and legal action.
- Work in the recovery of bad debt and charged‑off loans.
- Have strong knowledge of loan documents and a clear understanding of default and the remedies available to cure.
- Participate in special projects or duties as assigned.
- Perform compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.
- Knowledge or ability to learn bankruptcy law, real estate law, and civil law.
- Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys as an advocate for the bank when dealing with attorneys for the bank and for the customer.
- Ability to understand basic legal terms and concepts.
- Ability to understand appraisals/BPOs/Collateral valuations.
- Ability to understand bank loan documents and legal terminology contained therein so that the rights of the bank are protected in legal matters.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn applicable rules and regulations.
- Ability to communicate and listen effectively with customers across all methods of communication.
- Ability to work as a team player with the collections team and work closely with all department staff.
- Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment and adhering to approval authority guidelines.
Credit Collection Specialist I - $20.67 to $31.03 per hour
Credit Collection Specialist II - $22.50 to $33.76 per hour
Credit Collection Specialist III - $24.45 to $36.71 per hour
Credit Collection Specialist IV - $26.63 to $39.94 per hour
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, WA. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
