A GIS Asset Analyst with Noa Net supports the ongoing requirements of the maintenance, growth and development of the Noa Net network and GIS department. A GIS Asset Analyst is required to analyze existing Noa Net infrastructure, update and maintain infrastructure with Noa Net internal mapping tools, work with internal staff to provide KMZ’s, PDF’s, routing, fiber and strand management. The GIS Asset Analyst will also assist and help with analysis on proposed fiber builds, documentation, and oversee the implementation of as‑builts into mapping systems.
Work with external partners and clients to help with grant application GIS analysis, implementation, and fiber management of funded projects. The position may require occasional travel to help with field verification of existing fiber infrastructure to ensure accuracy in GIS systems.
- Work with ESRI based platform (Arc Map, Arc Pro, ArcGIS Online, etc), OSPInsight, Blue Beam, and other mapping tools.
- Work with multiple GIS tools to document existing infrastructure, new construction, cable/strand management, new splicing projects and as‑built documentation.
- Work with and create GIS Mobile Applications, Web Applications, and other tools necessary to support field workers, contractors, Noa Net Staff and Noa Net customers.
- Coordinate with customers to provide updated fiber infrastructure datasets as requested.
- Run analysis on existing infrastructure to identify cables usage, strand management, routing and details in order to help support Noa Net internal staff and any customer requests.
- Provide splice documentation, MOPs (Method of Procedure), and coordinate with the NOC for work being performed on the network.
- Assist GIS Manager to provide analysis on network designs for the OSP team utilizing GIS tools and extensions. Provide the data back to the OSP teams to use in strategic decisions for future projects.
- Incorporate as‑builts and splice/strand verification for record tracking purposes. Provide field visits and post inspection on jobs requiring additional field verification of completed construction jobs.
- Be experienced with and use OSPInsight for fiber tracking and strand management. Prepare KMZs and route details as requested by both Noa Net internal staff and customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS or a related field – or – 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge and experience with utility mapping and documentation.
- Ability to perform analysis and work proficiently in OSPInsight and other internal mapping tools.
- 3+ years of Office 365.
- 3+ years of experience with Google Earth, Google Maps, KMZ’s, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- 3+ years of Work Experience in Telecommunications or related fields/utilities.
- Position requires on call and 24‑hour availability
- The position may require occasional travel
- Driving a company car may be required: must have a current, state issued driver’s license with a clean driving record; must be able to provide proof of valid driver’s license and insurance
