Senior Bridge Engineer / Bridge Task Leader

Location: Spokane, WA (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $137K-$163K DOE

Our client is a respected engineering consulting firm known for delivering high-quality transportation infrastructure solutions across the Pacific Northwest. They are seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer / Bridge Task Leader to lead structural design efforts from their Spokane office. This is a leadership role suited for a seasoned bridge engineer ready to take ownership of complex infrastructure projects, mentor junior engineers, and work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-impact results.

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership
  • Serve as lead engineer on bridge and structural projects for highway, rail, and transit.
  • Oversee all project phases, from preliminary studies and technical reports to final design, cost estimates, and construction support.
  • Review structural calculations, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality.
Project Management
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to meet client and agency standards.
  • Perform condition inspections, load ratings, and structural evaluations on existing bridges.
  • Ensure projects are delivered with constructability and long-term performance in mind.
Mentorship & Collaboration
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior staff.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Contribute to proposal development and support strategic business development initiatives.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 12+ years of bridge engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington or Idaho.
  • Proficiency in software such as SAP
    2000, Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PGSuper, Conspan, LPile, BRASS.
  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-interfacing skills.
  • Ability to perform field inspections.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Structural Engineer (SE) license in Washington or Idaho.
  • Experience with WSDOT and ITD bridge design standards.
  • Familiarity with bridge inspection and load rating procedures.
