Job PurposeThe Department of Nursing seeks adjunct clinical faculty to mentor psych‑mental health nurse practitioner graduate students in practicum courses. The successful candidate will bring enthusiasm, clinical presence, and practical expertise to engage students in active learning and assessment, while fostering an inclusive learning environment. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching and mentoring graduate students from all backgrounds, including those traditionally underrepresented in nursing.

Essential Functions- Conduct in‑person clinical site visits, observing students with patients, engaging with preceptors about student progress and concerns, and reviewing diagnostic reasoning, care plans, and documentation.
- Collaborate and facilitate three synchronous contact points between preceptor, student, and clinical faculty (one of which occurs during the site visit).
- Evaluate clinical assignments and provide timely, rubric‑based feedback to students.
- Communicate with course faculty and practicum preceptors regarding student or site concerns.
- Participate in clinical faculty meetings throughout the year.
- Serve as an ambassador for Gonzaga University School of Health Sciences.
- Active, unencumbered Washington state RN and ARNP licensure.
- Active, unencumbered RN and ARNP licensure in the state of residence or where the clinical faculty role is performed.
- Master of Science in Nursing degree in Psych‑Mental Health Nursing.
- ANCC certification as Psych‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- Minimum of two years of current practice as a Psych‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Residence in one of the ten states where graduate nursing students complete practicum (AK, AZ, CA, , MT, NV, OR, UT, WY, WA).
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree as Nurse Practitioner.
- Previous clinical teaching experience.

Physical & On‑Campus RequirementsIn‑Office Presence: Ability to work on‑site in a typical office setting and participate in in‑person meetings with colleagues – 5 days/week.
Standing/Sitting: Ability to remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period – Daily (>75% of time).
Walking: Ability to move on foot to accomplish tasks – Daily (>75% of time).
Lifting/Carrying: Ability to move or transport objects up to a specified weight – Often (50‑75% of time).
Attention to Detail: Ability to focus on detailed tasks for extended periods – Daily (>75% of time).
Problem‑Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively – Daily (>75% of time).
