Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology – Bellevue Program

Job Summary

Eastern Washington University’s School of Psychology invites applications for a full‑time, academic‑year Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology, specialization open, to begin January 2, 2026 or March 16, 2026. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the greater Seattle/Bellevue area and to teach courses for the EWU at Bellevue College program on the Bellevue College campus.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses (e.g., Scientific Principles of Psychology, Science of Stress and Coping, Research Method, Senior Capstone, Seminar, etc.) totaling approximately 45 credits per year across three quarters.
  • Supervise students in practicum, internship, research, and portfolios.
  • Collect, retain, and disseminate course and program data for accrediting bodies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom instruction, and student supervision.
  • Participate in weekly School meetings, and other departmental, college, and university events.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D., Psy.

    D., or Ed.D. in Psychology or a related field; ABDs whose doctoral degree is completed no later than the start date may be considered.
  • Ability to teach a range of psychology courses, demonstrated by coursework, prior teaching experience, research, publications, or presentations.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills (word processing, database, email, instructional technology).
  • High level of interest in human and cultural backgrounds, social justice, and community‑based education.
  • Demonstrated ability to support diverse students through responsive and flexible teaching practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching university or college graduate‑level psychology courses.
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid formats.
  • Commitment to quality teaching and student development.
  • Experience advising students and supervising practicum/internship/applied research.
  • Experience promoting cultural competency.

Location & Schedule

Position is based at EWU @ Bellevue campus, Bellevue, WA. The schedule spans a nine‑month academic year (mid‑September to mid‑June) with possible optional summer teaching.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $68,216 per year.
