Tooth savers, a School Based Sealant Program providing mobile oral health services to children in schools, is seeking a Dental Hygienist. Since 2010, we have been delivering preventive oral health care to Eastern WA school children. Our goal is to ensure access to oral health for all children in our community.
This position involves providing oral screenings, fluoride treatments, sealants, oral health education, and dental referrals directly in schools. Hygienists will be equipped with mobile equipment and supported by an administrative assistant for tasks such as charting and child retrieval. The role is scheduled for Mondays and Tuesdays, starting at the beginning of the next school year.
Ideal candidates are kind, patient, skilled, enjoy fast-paced environments, and are dedicated to community health. This role offers a more independent and less physically demanding alternative to traditional dental office work.
Work hours are typically from 8 am to 2:30 pm during school days. Tooth savers is closed during school holidays.
Responsibilities- Perform oral screenings, apply fluoride varnish and dental sealants, provide basic oral health education, following CDC infection control protocols.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- WA state Registered Dental Hygienist license
- CPR certification
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Since 2010, Tooth savers has been providing preventive oral health services in Eastern Washington schools, serving over 170 schools. This position is rewarding, less physically demanding, and offers a change from routine dental office environments. Compensation ranges up to $54/hour, with bonus and travel pay opportunities.
