The position is located at our College Ave Main Campus, has a dayshift schedule of Monday to Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and starts at $30.17 per hour.

What you'll be doing

The Contracts Specialist 1 supports the contract lifecycle for SRHD contracts which includes review of contracts received and preparation of contracts for contractors and/or subrecipients. The Contracts Specialist 1 assists in the implementation and administration of the contract process. The Contract Specialist 1 will provide critical administrative and clerical support to the contract and procurement process. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.

The Contract Specialist 1 will support the Contract Specialist 2 to ensure that contracts are executed in compliance with SRHD policies and procedures and follow state and federal regulations.
This position performs duties that require discretion when preparing, disclosing, and handling information that is confidential, controversial, or sensitive in nature. This role may communicate and maintain confidential records, be privy to information and documentation that require discretion including access to potentially sensitive information. This role only requests or provides access for relevant confidential information needed to perform this role and responsibilities.

The duties include exercising judgment and discretion in accordance with the parameters set by leadership.
Some Essential Functions Include:

  • Assists with compiling contract terms, scope, budget, and required documentation.
  • Supports adherence to contract policies and procedures and assists employees with contract-related problems.
  • Assists with Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Bids, and Qualifications.
  • Supports compliance with Federal and Washington State grant funding requirements.

What we need from you

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Office Management, Administrative Assistant, Legal Secretary, or similar field.
  • Two years of progressive responsibility with advanced support experience, including the full range of office and support functions, experience with word processing, and other personal computer applications. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion when working with confidential information, records, and documentation.
  • Valid motor vehicle license and current auto insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One or more years of governmental contracts, Federal, State, and local Law experience or hands-on experience in contract management.
