Overview
We are seeking to appoint to the Education Health Needs team, part of the Woodlands School, an EHN Caseworker Grade 9 Term time + 2 weeks. The postholder will be supporting a cluster of schools mainly attached to one geographical area but will be required to cover/move to the other areas if needed. The post holder will be based in the The Pines at Sacriston and work across the county supporting schools with pupils with an identified health need which prevents their attendance postholder assesses need and identifies an appropriate pathway of support.
The caseworker chairs regular review meetings in school to discuss pupil progress. Contributing to the single assessment process is required and attendance at TAF meetings. The caseload includes a significant number of KS4 pupils whose reluctance to attend school is driven by an identified anxiety. A significant element of the role is supporting the pupils re-integration to school and supporting outreach teachers, parents/carers and mainstream school staff whilst offering an element of challenge where needed.
This role is an opportunity to contribute to a successful reintegration package of support and ensure pupils full access to the curriculum.

Term time only plus two additional weeks pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
- Number of teaching weeks - 38 weeks; plus
- Public (bank) holidays - 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus
- Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD - 2 weeks; plus
- Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days).
Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years service will receive 32 days annual leave. For example:
Calculation for employees with less than 5 years service: 40 weeks (term time plus
2) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 47 weeks pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments. Calculation for employees with more than 5 years service: 40 weeks (term time plus
2) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 48 weeks pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.
