Job Description
We are hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Team at Cherokee Medical Center in Gaffney, SC.
Sign On Bonus $5,000.00 NEW GRAD - $15,000.00 Experienced Eligible RN
Responsibilities- The Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) provides inpatient nursing care to patients in compliance with the SC Nurse Practice Act and organization protocols, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- The RN demonstrates clinical competency utilizing evidence-based practices and research in all areas of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes.
- The RN demonstrates thorough knowledge of therapeutic patient care, patient advocacy, clinical pathways/care maps, team dynamics, hospital systems, and serves as a resource for support associates.
- The RN will collaborate with leadership in developing and implementing Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System's culture, Mission, Vision, and Values. Associates are encouraged to engage and support Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System's involvement in the communities we serve.
- Participates in providing patient care per unit and system standards; participates in committees and supports unit goals.
- Meets continuing education requirements and ensures compliance with clinical expectations of regulatory agency requirements (DNV, DHEC, CMS).
- Effectively communicates with patients, families, providers, and hospital associates.
- Performs nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care; prioritizes interventions based on condition and priority of care.
- Collaborates with patient, families, and other members of the health care team to determine patient priorities and treatments; coordinates patient teaching activities.
- Initiates and facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance outcomes; seeks assistance to ensure positive patient outcomes.
- Provides clinical guidance to students and ancillary staff; completes hospital and unit-based orientation programs and annual competencies.
- Maintains safety and quality by following established policies and procedures; ensures compliance with regulatory and clinical expectations.
- Continuously develops professional growth plans and contributes to policy/procedure development as needed.
- Participates in unit-based committees and designated activities; prioritizes nursing interventions for an assigned group of patients.
- Assesses medical history, admitting diagnosis, physician orders, and conducts physical assessments to determine patient needs; prioritizes care for multiple patients based on severity.
- Communicates professionally with patients of all ages and backgrounds, including those who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.
- Utilizes nursing standards and protocols to manage and stabilize emergencies until a provider responds; ensures continuity of care through sound decision making.
- Supports patient experience initiatives and participates in rounding, bedside shift reports, and huddles as assigned.
- Complies with current policies and procedures and regulatory expectations (DNV, DHEC, CMS).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education
:
Graduate of an approved/accredited School of Nursing. - Experience
:
Novice to expert nurse. - License/Registration/Certifications
:
Current RN licensure in the State of South Carolina or Compact State; BLS - may secure certification post-hire. - Preferred Experience
:
One year of recent RN experience within the past 5 years.
