We are hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Med Surg Tele team at Cherokee Medical Center in Gaffney, SC!
SIGN ON BONUS $7,500.00 New Grad RN - $15,000.00 Eligible Experienced RN
Responsibilities- Provide inpatient nursing care to patients in compliance with the SC Nurse Practice Act and organization policies and guidelines.
- Demonstrate clinical competency using evidence-based practices across the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with leadership to support the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System's Mission, Vision, and Values, and participate in community involvement initiatives.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise plans of care based on patient/family needs across physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational domains.
- Coordinate and deliver patient teaching, and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to improve outcomes.
- Utilize electronic health records and related technologies to document care and monitor patient progress.
- Adhere to required standards of behavior and proper chain of command; participate in unit/department committees as assigned.
- Maintain competency through orientation programs and annual trainings; support professional growth and policy/procedure development.
- Assess and prioritize multiple patients based on severity of illness and needs; manage emergencies until provider response.
- Promote patient safety and provide care in a fast-paced, diverse clinical environment.
- Engage with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure clear communication and quality care.
- Education:
Graduate of an approved/accredited School of Nursing - Experience:
Novice to expert nurse - License/Registration/
Certifications:
Current RN licensure in the State of South Carolina or Compact State - BLS - may secure certification post-hire
- One year of recent RN experience within the past 5 years
- Basic computer skills; ability to use electronic health records
- Document all aspects of patient care per established charting procedures
- Adhere to system standards of behavior and appropriate chain of command
- Meet continuing education requirements and comply with regulatory agency expectations (DNV, DHEC, CMS)
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and hospital staff
- Provide safe patient care and maintain a positive care environment
- Develop, implement, and update plans of care; reassess patient needs and outcomes
- Coordinate patient and family education; support interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ensure readiness for new equipment and annual competency validation
- Provide guidance to students and ancillary staff; participate in orientation programs
- Contribute to policy/procedure development and unit-based committees
- Prioritize nursing interventions for assigned patients; assess medical history, diagnoses, orders, and diagnostic data
- Assess and manage multiple patients according to severity; exercise clinical judgment in a fast-paced setting
- Interact professionally with patients from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of understanding
- Utilize standards and protocols to manage emergencies until providers respond
- Comply with current policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned
