Overview
We are seeking a motivated and meticulous individual with substantial experience as a legal assistant/paralegal, including real estate transactions from contract through closing and general administrative assistance in a law office. This position supports our attorneys in the areas of real estate, school and education law, estate planning, probate administration, contract law, business law, and litigation.
Responsibilities- Assist attorneys with preparing legal documents for real estate closings, estate planning, probate administration, corporate entity formations, business transactions, and litigation;
- Coordinate and facilitate real estate closings, including review of title abstracts, preparation of title insurance policies and closing packages, ensuring accurate disbursement of funds, and completing post-closing items;
- Maintain accurate records and manage firm and client files;
- Manage firm and attorney calendars and deadlines;
- File and record documents with courts and other governmental offices;
- Provide administrative office support, such as answering phones, assisting clients and other office visitors, drafting correspondence, client billing, and other clerical tasks; and
- Maintain firm and client confidentiality.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a legal assistant/paralegal, including real estate transactions (with sound knowledge and understanding of South Carolina real estate practices from contract through closing) and general administrative assistance in a law office;
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to perform thorough document review and proofreading and to consistently deliver quality and accurate work products;
- Proficiency with Soft Pro, Microsoft Office, Sage Timeslips, and Quick Books;
- The ability to professionally and effectively communicate and coordinate with attorneys and other firm staff, clients, court staff, lenders, title insurance companies, and others orally and in writing;
- The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously; and
- Notary Public certification in South Carolina.
- Full-time, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday;

The estimated salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000, with actual salary commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.
