Location:
Gaffney, South Carolina, United States

Schedule:
Nights (weekends as needed);
Full Time
Hours:
11pm to 7am and 7pm to 7am
- Decisions concerning sample collection and handling
- Daily instrument maintenance and quality control
- Sample testing
- Collection and interpretation of data
- Maintenance of accurate records and reporting of data
- Knowledge of critical values
- Perform quantitative and qualitative clinical laboratory studies to comply with physician requests, providing data for diagnosis and treatment of disease
- Provide and understand the specific communication, developmental and treatment needs of patients, families and visitors across age ranges from neonate to geriatric
- Comply with established standards and practices; may be asked to modify or reassign duties as necessary
- Understand and comply with Standards of Behavior and department policies, procedures and regulations
- Troubleshooting
- Moderate chemical, biological and/or low-level radiation exposure
- Communication skills for interaction with the health care team, technical services, and patient education
- Moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs) or equivalent effort
- Ability to withstand the stress and demands of an active position and extensive periods of standing, walking, stooping, bending and sitting
- Manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, adequate vision and hearing
- Ability to operate complex instrumentation
- Team player with positive interactions; ability to work irregular/flexible hours
- Maintain strict confidentiality of work-related information
- Maintain credentials and licensure; trained and competent on limited procedures in Highly Infectious Disease Testing
- Read, write, and speak English fluently; color vision test may be required
- Education
Associate degree in Laboratory Science
- Experience
1-3 years' experience in a hospital laboratory
- License/Registration/Certifications
MLT registry through ASCP
