Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Spartanburg, South Carolina. In this contract role, you will be responsible for managing key financial functions, including billing, collections, and cash applications. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a non-profit organization by ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations.

Responsibilities:

- Process and manage accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Handle cash applications, including posting payments and reconciling discrepancies.

- Oversee commercial collections activities to recover outstanding balances effectively.

- Prepare and issue invoices according to established billing procedures.

- Monitor and report on cash activity to support financial planning and analysis.

- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve payment issues and ensure smooth operations.

- Maintain detailed records of receivable transactions and ensure compliance with organizational standards.

- Generate regular reports on accounts receivable status for management review.

- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and verifying financial data.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounts receivable function. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts receivable management within a detail-oriented environment.

- Strong knowledge of cash applications and billing processes.

- Familiarity with commercial collections practices and strategies.

- Proficiency in financial software and tools to manage accounts receivable activities.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and internal teams.

- Ability to analyze financial data and generate accurate reports.

- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
