Financial Manager, Corporate Finance
Manufacturing company is currently seeking an experienced Controller, based in a plant, with a minimum of five years of experience as a Controller, and preferably a candidate that holds a Bachelors Degree and CPA.
The Plant Controller is responsible for ensuring compliance with safe work practices within their department and verifying that all employees adhere to established safety procedures while performing their duties.
Key responsibilities include preparing daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, monthly forecasts, the annual operating plan, and supporting overall strategic planning efforts. The role oversees internal controls and SOX compliance at the plant level and supervises hourly payroll.
This position requires assuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and resolving any related questions in collaboration with corporate financial management. The Plant Controller will analyze and accurately report monthly financial results to both plant and corporate management, following the required formats and deadlines.
Additional duties include reconciling all General Ledger accounts monthly, submitting all financial transactions and reports promptly, and identifying cost reduction and profit improvement opportunities with recommendations for implementation. The Plant Controller coordinates audits with outside and customer auditors and ensures the accuracy of physical inventory and related reporting, investigating and explaining any discrepancies between book and physical counts.
Regular analysis and reporting of tooling project financials to local and corporate management teams is required. The role performs audits of bills of materials and routings to ensure accurate product costing and accounting, as well as timely and accurate input of tooling project costs and recoveries.
The Plant Controller attends daily plant production meetings, prepares capital forecasts with local management for corporate submission, and oversees the maintenance of the fixed asset ledger on FAS, ensuring it balances with the General Ledger. The role ensures timely and accurate reporting of government-required information and assists in the completion of special projects, along with other duties as assigned.
