Accounting Specialist

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic financial services organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing electronic payments and reconciling accounts, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the daily processing and reconciliation of electronic payments, live checks, and organizational transactions.

- Collect, verify, and compile debit payments from third-party vendors across online and mobile platforms.

- Reconcile loan disbursements to debit cards and ensure accurate transaction verification using specialized software.

- Maintain detailed Excel spreadsheets to track chargebacks, refunds, credits, and organizational fees.

- Prepare and import financial transaction data into the General Ledger on a daily and monthly basis.

- Generate monthly reports detailing debit card activity and monitor trends such as excessive merchant card declines.

- Verify and process setup forms for dealers and perform related monthly ledger imports.

- Collaborate with the Cash Manager to enhance existing processes and ensure compliance with company policies.

- Provide backup support for various functions within the Cash Management Department as needed.

- Demonstrate consistent and punctual attendance to maintain smooth operations.

Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.

- Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

- Strong knowledge of billing functions and account reconciliation.

- Experience in managing and analyzing accounting data with attention to detail.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with reconciling software.

- Ability to compile and interpret financial reports accurately.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
