Adjunct Faculty - Physical Science & Astronomy

Overview

Adjunct Positions:
Physical Science and Astronomy Spartanburg Methodist College invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty positions in Physical Science and Astronomy. Both courses are non-STEM track and serve as general education requirements. The successful candidate will teach up to three two-hour labs in-person. The start date for Spring 2026 is January 13, with candidates sought for future semesters as well. Contracts may be renewed on a semester-by-semester basis depending on enrollment, instructor availability, and student success.

• A MS or PhD in a physical science or a master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in a physical science
• Experience teaching at the college level is preferred but not required
• Strong communication skills
• Familiarity with lecture and laboratory instruction
