We are partnering with a growing logistics company to find a Sourcing Manager to join their team!
The Sourcing Manager leads the sourcing team while playing a critical role in leading the full lifecycle of quoting, supplier strategy, and project transition for complex, highly customized logistics projects. This role is responsible for guiding the team to provide high-impact, market-competitive proposals and ensuring operational readiness for successful project execution, while maintaining direct ownership of select, high-impact sourcing initiatives.
We are looking for a strategic self-starter who enjoys the continuous evolution of sourcing methodologies focused on cost efficiency, performance, and organizational growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS- Manage and mentor the sourcing team, providing guidance on best practices
- Set team goals and monitor performance
- Develop training programs and share industry insights with the team
Participate in all activities in the RFQ process:
- Lead bids, including hands-on ownership of complex RFQs
- Clarify project details with both internal team and customers
- Formulate sourcing strategies based on data and market research
- Create and issue RFQs to suppliers;
Manage the process with clarity and responsiveness - Analyze pricing and services to support the best supplier selection
- Present recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
- Lead communication with suppliers regarding project award, pricing, scope changes, project closeout, feedback, and reviews
- Foster strong, professional relationships with suppliers to enhance project outcomes and future opportunities
- Support supplier performance management and continuous improvement efforts
- Attend industry events to expand the supplier base
- Lead project handoff call with internal stakeholders across operations, safety, and finance
- Participate in project kickoff call with customers
- Participate in any sourcing activities needed for changes of scope
- Support project closeout activities and internal reviews as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree, focus in Supply Chain preferred
- 10+ years of experience in logistics sourcing or project management preferred
- Project experience in sourcing, procurement, management, finance, or sales
- Professional experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, RFQ process, or finance
- Ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize, and be flexible
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of organization
- Proven experience in data and risk analysis
- Active listening, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
