EDUCATION/
EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must pass pre-employment testing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Schedule sand successfully executes an equitable number of passport applications based onthe needs of facility.
- Regularlytracks passport applications to ensure they are received by Passport Services.
- Maintainsup to date literature and applications related to passport applications andkeeps up to date with changes as communicated through official passportacceptance agent correspondence.
- Supportspassport facility by attending yearly training and being available forperiodical facility training.
- Maintains confidentiality and abiding by all rules set forward by the Passport Application Resource Guide (PARG).
- Provides superior customer service with information requests, reader’s advisoryquestions, computers, digital devices, and library equipment.
- Collaborates with community partners, patrons, and staff to provide relevant, innovativeassistance and programs for patrons of the Information Services Department.
- Assists with processing, shifting, and weeding of the collection when needed; readsshelves to make sure items are in the correct order on the shelf; assists withlibrary book displays; shelves materials when necessary.
- Handlesfinancial transactions and assists in preparing bank deposits.
- Responsible for maintaining an attractive space in the Information Services department.
- Participates in department meetings, assigned committee meetings, and online discussions.
- Attendsregular training related to adult services and other library work.
- Remains aware of safety and security issues and takes appropriate action as needed;roves the department to maintain awareness of patron needs and security.
KNOWLEDGE &
SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience and proficiency with current library technology, including the internet, researchdatabases, productivity software, and communications applications
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Good time management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and work independently or in a team environment
- Proven experience in collaborating with others to provide appropriate service and programs for thepublic
- SCPLuses multi-factor authentication for network and program access. Employees maybe required to use their personal device for MFA.
- Driver’s license validin the State of South Carolina with the ability to drive to otherlibraries
