Job Title:
Plumber Maintenance
The Plumber, Maintenance assembles, installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes. They study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required, and sequence of installations, inspect structures to ascertain obstructions to be avoided, and locate and mark positions of pipe and pipe connections. The worker cuts openings in walls and floors, uses hand and power tools to cut, thread, bend and fit pipes and pipe fittings of metals and nonmetals.
They join pipe using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints, fill pipe systems with water or air, read pressure gauges, install and repair fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers and water softeners, and mending burst pipes, opening clogged drains, and may weld holding fixtures to steel structural members.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Maintain required city/county/state license(s), where applicable.
- Training and experience acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Maintain Journeyman Plumber Certification.
This is a full‑time Union position with full benefits to include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability.
Additional RequirementsMust be able to successfully pass, as required, a federal, state or local government's background investigation.
