We are on a journey of continuous growth - now looking for our next star - a passionate Document Control Specialist. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will work in Sparta, TN.

About the position

As Document Control Specialist of the Sparta team, you will be involved in developing instructional SOP's for the production of products and sub-components throughout the plant. Processes will be developed by the Manufacturing Engineering Team, the DCS will use this information to developed detailed SOP's which are part specific for all products. This position will work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure all specifications are easily understood with our production associates.

They will ensure documents are reviewed, organized, and approved appropriately.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Develop SOP's for all new part releases
  • Revamp current SOP's and Work Instructions into our new SOP standard
  • Obtain and catalog photos and illustrations to be used in instructional SOP's
  • Support all ISO Management System Requirements, including standard operating procedure(s), work instruction(s) and document control and record keeping for auditing the production cell(s)
  • Perform record keeping, organization and archiving
  • Support Document Numbering/Revisioning
  • Review/Support/Organize released product records and files
  • Assist with procedure revisions to include updating procedures performed
  • Assist with training production associates on SOP's
  • Assist implementation corrective actions and process improvements
  • On occasion, may be required to work across multiple shifts
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be a solid experience within Document Control and Manufacturing as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
  • Associate or Technical Degree in a technical field or 2-5 years equivalent experience in related field
  • Experience working with Marine products/parts preferred
  • Knowledge of reading drawings, tolerancing, and product specifications to develop those into the SOP
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications:
    Excel, Word, Teams, Access, etc.
