BASOR JOB DESCRIPTON: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of equipment and facility systems within our welding and cable tray manufacturing operation. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production uptime, supporting continuous improvement, and sustaining a safe, clean, and efficient industrial environment.
The Maintenance Technician will lead daily maintenance activities across fabrication, welding, warehouse, and shipping areas, troubleshooting issues, coordinating repairs, and helping drive preventative maintenance and reliability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute daily maintenance operations across the manufacturing floor, welding stations, and warehouse areas.
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot industrial equipment and systems, including welding equipment, plasma cutters, saws, and forming machinery; compressed air systems, dust collection and ventilation systems; electrical panels, lighting, and power distribution systems; forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Support preventative maintenance (PM) programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation including SOPs, BOMs, drawings, and incident reports.
- Assist with facility upkeep to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience supporting welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment.
- Solid working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing concepts such as TPM, 5S, or Six Sigma preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for reporting and KPI tracking.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and driven by continuous improvement.
- Ability to lead initiatives and influence outcomes without direct authority.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 5–7+ years of maintenance, reliability, or engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Welding certifications or formal welding training
- Forklift and overhead crane certification
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment with exposure to welding, fabrication processes, dust, and heavy machinery.
- Must be able to walk, stand, crouch, climb ladders or stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Availability for occasional emergency call-outs or weekend support during outages or critical repairs.
- Comfortable working in hot and cold conditions, high-noise areas, and around active equipment.
