Overview
ER Registered Nurse opportunity at Northern Nevada Health System, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center. The position is per diem with a flexible, varied schedule.
ResponsibilitiesProvide professional nursing care within the Emergency Department. Coordinate care planning with other disciplines, provide psychosocial, physical, and general care, prioritize based on patient needs, communicate with ED physicians, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal care.
- Perform a head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and reassess as per policy for pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general populations.
- Use triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care; accurately assign triage categories.
- Monitor hemodynamic status and correctly interpret results.
- Assess and reassess pain, use appropriate pain management techniques, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications- Current NV RN license
- Two to three years experience in the emergency department, OR critical care, OR extensive EMS background
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification (within 6 months of hire)
- Current PALS certification (within 6 months of hire)
