This Cath Lab Registered Nurse is a per diem opportunity. The dynamic professional will provide direct patient care to adult patient populations. The role addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the procedural/interventional environment. The incumbent communicates effectively with the physician and team members about patient condition, assesses the procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness, and assists in obtaining supplies for individual cases to meet the needs of the cardiovascular lab team.
The nurse monitors, positions and assists the patient during the procedure and administers moderate sedation under the guidance of the physician. The role participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
- Responsible for admitting, recovering and discharging patients from the Cardiovascular Lab.
- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other health team members as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served. Interprets data about the patient’s status to identify age-specific needs and provide care accordingly.
- Performs a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and conducts reassessments as per policy. Includes post-procedure assessments.

RequirementsQualifications
- Current NV nursing license
- Current BLS certificate
- ACLS certificate
- 2 years of telemetry experience required
- Cath Lab experience preferred
- One year full time or three years part time experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Current POC certification within 6 months of hire
- Willing to take call/standby in the Cardiovascular lab as needed
