ER at Spanish Springs
, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, is open 24/7 and welcomes all ages from pediatrics to seniors. The facility features multiple treatment rooms, including fast‑track exam rooms designed to efficiently triage low‑severity patients. Advanced imaging services, including ultrasound, CT and X‑ray, and outpatient lab draws are offered. Like a hospital emergency department, the FED treats a variety of emergency medical needs including trauma conditions, lacerations, acute pain and other life‑threatening but emergent conditions.

Responsibilities

The ER Registered Nurse opportunity is per diem and offers a convenient varied flexible schedule. The nurse will provide professional nursing care within the Emergency Department, coordinate care planning with other disciplines, ensure psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care, determine priorities of care, and communicate with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status.

  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Ability to perform a head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy, including pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
  • Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients, accurately assigning triage categories.
  • Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient interpret the results.
  • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain, utilize appropriate pain management techniques, and educate the patient and family regarding pain management.

Qualifications
  • Current NV RN License
  • Two to three years experience in the emergency department preferred
  • Two to three years critical care experience preferred
  • Extensive EMS background experience preferred
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification (within 6 months of hire)
  • Current

    ALS certification (within 6 months of hire)
