Engineering Technician, Launch Team, Powertrain

New Product Introduction (NPI) Technician will report to the NPI Supervisor and be responsible for performing NPI Builds, line trials and maintaining the NPI area. Expected to execute manufacturing instructions, validate work, check quality, mentor associates, lead builds and meet schedules.

• Perform complex electro‑mechanical assemblies independently.
• Troubleshoot and rework with understanding of functional operations.
• Follow detailed manufacturing documentation and test equipment.
• Problem solve, juggle tasks and collaborate.
• Conduct quality activities and self‑inspection.
• Update production records, test results and suggest process improvements.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area within standard times.

• Lead/mentor indirect crews of 5+.
• Basic electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems understanding.
• Read manufacturing instructions and mechanical drawings.
• High craftsmanship, attention to detail, quick work; basic machine shop and welding skills a plus.
• Reliable, initiative, quality focused, manage multiple tasks.
• Comfortable working on multiple projects and interacting with multiple teams.
• Fluent in MS Office.

• Lifts 30 lbs. continually and maintains safe environment.
• Physically demanding work up to 12 hours a day.
• Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for up to 12 hours per day.
• Bend, lift and reach to install parts.
• Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or high structures.
• Find process issues and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing.
• Wear personal protective equipment: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap and follow safety rules.
• Stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day on uneven terrain.
