The Semi Strategic Planning team at Tesla is dedicated to shaping innovative business models and guiding the Semi Truck Business to advance Tesla’s mission of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy.
As a Technical Program Manager of New Market Entry on the Semi Truck team, you will play a critical part in scoping new markets to deploy as part of the global vehicle strategy. Responsibilities include scoping and readying charging and service infrastructure, setting up localized order operations and software, and scoping homologation, trade requirements, and localized policies associated with entering a market.
To meet the goals for this role you will need to be highly motivated with exceptional management and organizational skills. A technical background is key given how closely you will be working across a broad group of engineering teams. Additionally, quick thinking and sound judgement under pressure is required. WhatYou’ll Do
- Develop and execute deployment strategy for the Tesla Semi Truck expanding in New Markets
- Align deployment plans across vehicle, software, charging, policy, finance, and service organizations
- Prepare executive materials driving key business decisions, including spending and expansion
- Scope new markets, considering cost, lead time, resourcing, and customer base
- Degree in Engineering or Technology or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Program Manager with a technical scope of work
- Experience with data acquisition, analysis, and processing tools, a plus
- Experience in an engineering environment with responsibility for implementing efficient changes and streamlining processes
- Ability to be resourceful, and autonomously drive solutions in ambiguous problem spaces
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment on several different projects
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating with multiple cross functional teams
- Driven and willing to undertake great challenges, and to manage development & validation projects across a variety of programs and initiatives, often with conflicting or overlapping priorities
- Understanding of logistics or trucking industry customer needs
