Our Data Center Engineering Operations team maintains and operates critical infrastructure systems so that they are prepared to stand up against any situation. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.

We keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and all the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep our customers’ innovation available. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver the highest standards of safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.

• Tasked with driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
• Drive projects with moderate complexity.
• Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack‑level events within internal service‑level agreements (SLA).
• Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings, and facility management.
• Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers.
• Manage contractors, sub‑contractors, and vendors on site, ensuring all work follows established practices, procedures and local legislation.
• Oversee maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
• Enforce all safety procedures while performing work.
• Perform basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change‑management creation, writing procedures, and building‑management systems.
• Work schedule may change depending on site needs; shifts can be up to 12 hours and may rotate on a predefined schedule. Some locations have on‑call rotations.
• Maintain critical infrastructure equipment to ensure 99.999% uptime of the world’s largest cloud computing portfolio.
• Support more than one location/site if required.
• Walk job sites on uneven terrain, maintain balance, and perform construction tasks while on a ladder.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds unassisted and participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds.
• Perform manual tasks such as walking, using hands and fingers, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing stairs, twisting, bending, working above shoulders, grasping, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

• Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years’ equivalent experience in a relevant industry (e.g., electrical or mechanical).
• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• 2+ years of Data Center Engineering experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,600/year in the lowest market up to $133,200/year in the highest. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
