Engineering Technician V – Sierra Nevada Corporation
Join an elite team at Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) as an Engineering Technician V and become a recognized subject matter expert (SME). You will construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and maintain electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical equipment, ensuring all components meet established specifications.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area delivers affordable, turn‑key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. Our team supports the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains.
Qualifications You Must Have- Associate's degree in a related field of study, at least 10 years of relevant experience
- A higher‑level degree may substitute for experience
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Ability to understand and interpret complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
- Comprehensive understanding of the use of standard laboratory test equipment, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscope, pitot/static equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance
- Experience with troubleshooting and repair of complex systems
- Basic skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation
- Understanding of soldering techniques
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with technical documentation and writing of repair/troubleshooting documentation
- Experience with Linux systems
- Experience with RF cable testing
- Cable build and system assembly
- Experience with IPv4 and IPv6
- Prior experience in a lead role; the ability to mentor, train, guide and inspect the work of subordinates
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, NASA, the U.S. Department of Defense or U.S. Military

Security ClearanceThis position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as this role requires an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non‑U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF) handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process. Adjudicative factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations, and illegal drug use.
