Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Internship experience is designed to develop student athletes in discerning their calling and career while introducing them to various aspects of ministry through FCA. FCA Interns are collegiate volunteers who engage through FCA in a learning and developmental ministry experience during a summer or a semester. Interns who are serving through FCA are not employees and do not receive compensation by the hour or for production of their work.

Interns serving with FCA may receive a nominal stipend for living related expenses during the course of the internship.

FCA internship experiences vary from location to locations; however, the primary goal of each internship is to develop the intern's understanding of his/her individual calling to ministry through related training and experience. Further information about each specific internship is available by contacting the FCA staff associated with this posting.

MINISTERIAL DUTIES

These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.
  • Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
  • Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
  • Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
  • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.
The FCA Intern will partner with local FCA staff to serve and support ministry efforts across multiple platforms. This internship provides hands-on ministry experience while helping advance the vision of FCA: to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. The Intern will be actively involved in planning, supporting, and participating in FCA Huddles, Sports Programs, Adventure Events, and Special Events.

Key Responsibilities

• Campus Huddles - Assist with FCA Huddles at middle schools, high schools, and colleges. Support in preparation, set-up, leadership, discipleship, and follow-up with students and coaches.

• Off-Campus Huddles - Engage with community-based Huddles by helping lead devotionals, building relationships, and encouraging spiritual growth among athletes and leaders.

• FCA Sports Programs - Support the planning, logistics, and execution of FCA Sports initiatives, including camps, leagues, and training sessions. Help create a Christ-centered environment that fosters skill development and faith growth.

• FCA Adventure Events - Participate in and assist with FCA Adventure experiences (e.g., outdoor activities, retreats, or team-building events) designed to engage coaches and athletes outside of traditional sports settings.

• Special Events - Help plan, promote, and execute FCA-hosted events such as banquets, fundraisers, outreach events, and vision nights. Assist with hospitality, communication, and day-of-event needs.

Qualifications

• Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to living out FCA's mission and values.

• Strong communication and relational skills, especially with youth, athletes, and coaches.

• Willingness to serve in a variety of ministry settings (schools, sports fields, outdoors, events).

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with FCA staff and volunteers.

• Flexible schedule to accommodate school visits, sports events, and weekend activities.

Learning & Development Opportunities

• Gain hands-on ministry and leadership experience.

• Be mentored by FCA staff in personal faith, leadership, and ministry skills.

• Exposure to multiple aspects of ministry: discipleship, event planning, communication, and outreach.

• Opportunity to make a lasting spiritual impact in the lives of coaches and athletes in the community.
